CHEM 3412 (CHEM3412)

This is a lab report I had to write and explain what I did in the experiment. Part I explains the formation of hydrobenzoin. I explain the materials used and how the outcome come about and how the IR and HNMR graph can be used to conclude what product has been made. Part 2 concludes hydrobenzoin to be reduced to acetal. I explained how hydrobenzoin was converted into acetal by starting off with the line reaction, mechanism, experimental section, and results/conclusion.

This lab report concludes what I did in class. I explain the mechanism that is undergoing in the reaction and I explain the steps (procedure) to gain the product at the end of the experiment. I calculate percent and theoretical yield and explain how those calculations interpret what was created in lab. I then used the IR graph to explain what product was made in lab.
