Further, this lecture illustrates the varying definitions and roles of juvenile delinquency from the perspectives of the major theoretical paradigms (Social Consensus, Conflict Theory, Symbolic Interaction, Presentation of Self) and delves into the role of public opinion and media in the creation and maintenance of juvenile delinquency as a social construction.

Lecture 8 covers multiple theoretical frameworks of delinquency, delineating Becker's Typology of Deviant Behavior, Labeling Theory, Conflict Theory, Feminist Theories, Tannebaum's Tagging Hypothesis, Edwin Lemert's distinction between Primary and Secondary Deviance, Goffman's stigmatization, Braithwaite's Restorative Justice, and many others.
