Summary: Comparative Constitutional Law (Constitutions Compared by Heringa & Kiiver + all lectures by Carla Zoethout + IRAC of cases)
This is a threefold summary of the course Comparative Constitutional Law at the University of Amsterdam. It consists of three parts:
a) ANSWERS TO TUTORIAL QUESTIONS that guide you through the entire 7-week material, including material from Heringa & Kiiver's "Constitutions Compared" (3rd ed. but compatible with 4th ed.), comparing Germany, France, United Kingdom, United States, the Netherlands, European Union (ECHR and ECtHR) material from texts of Ran Hirschl, Karl Loewenstein, Michel Rosenfeld, Smith & Spaeth, etc.
b) IRAC (ISSUE, RULE, ANALYSIS, CONCLUSION) SUMMARIES OF LANDMARK CASES (COMPLETE ARRESTEN) such as Marbury v. Madison, Mulloch v. Maryland, French Burqa Ban, Roe v. Wade, United States v. Nixon, Van Gend en Loos, Costa/ENEL, Preminger v. Austria, Refah v. Turkey, Pretty v. UK.
c) LECTURE NOTES of LECTURES by CARLA ZOETHOUT, professor in Constitutional Law, giving yet another summary of above-mentioned book, authors and cases.
